Whitney Houston: Another Talent Is Gone

I’m not going to talk about Whitney’s drug addiction, her screwed up life after marrying the low-life Bobby Brown or her failed attempts at a comeback. I will not talk about her awards, her appearances or her place in the American tapestry of artist with her stirring rendition of the Star Spangled Banner in the days before Desert Storm 1.
I will talk about how a good woman lost faith in herself, her ability and her support system, her family.
No blame is to be placed on anyone…everyone failed. When a soul has no hope the only power one has left is to end their existence. (With or without intent) We can all ask the stupid questions: Where was God? Where was the Church? Where was the State? Where were her Friends? Where was her family?
We will all die alone. It is failure of monumental proportions when someone who has fame and resources even when money was gone could not get help or even worse gave up on getting help.
No matter what we go through in life we must help each other. Sometimes the plea for help is disguised as a rambling phone call or a request for ‘technical assistance’. We all must learn how to read the signs of desperation, despair and depression. If we don’t help each other we will surely perish too soon and many who really do love us will suffer and hurt.
Jimi Hendrix wrote these words in a song: “Will the wind ever remember,
The names it has blown in the past
And with his crutch,
it’s old age, and it's wisdom,
It whispers no, this will be the last
And the wind cries Mary…”
As long as we play Whitney’s music she will live forever in the moods evoked by her songs.
I have updated this post with what is my favorite Whitney Houston performance. I hope you enjoy this.

Where was Dr. Conrad Murray tonight... I would think he would be a person of interest.
ReplyDeleteI liked her. Whitney was OK with me. The rest of her family may need prayer. But the niggers in her life need killin'.
ReplyDeleteI understand the anger and the pain. I was just as angry as you when Janis Joplin and Karen Carpenter died. Doing anybody harm is not advised as a thought, or some asshole might think your making a threat. Revenge is no answer. But bringing a fool to the cesspool of his own pain will leaves marks that eyes can't see.
Deletei hurt because we will never hear Whitney again. i hurt because i do not think she was happy when she died
