This
is an Informational Posting. This is not Fiction.
Yes, We are looking right at October. Which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Look, I don't care what your sexual orientation is but I'm willing to bet if you are a human being on the face of this planet...a woman probably had something to do with you being here.
Here are some stats for you to digest from 'The American Cancer Society' which reports these statistics:
"What are the key statistics about breast cancer?
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women, except for skin cancers.
The chance of developing invasive breast cancer at some time in a woman's life is a little less than 1 in 8 (12%).
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women, except for skin cancers. About 1 in 8 (12%) women in the US will develop invasive breast cancer during their lifetime.

The
American Cancer Society's most recent estimates for breast cancer in the United
States are for 2012:
About 226,870 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in
women.
About 63,300 new cases of carcinoma in situ (CIS) will be diagnosed (CIS
is non-invasive and is the earliest form of breast cancer).
About 39,510 women
will die from breast cancer
After increasing for more than 2 decades, female breast
cancer incidence rates began decreasing in 2000, then dropping by about 7% from
2002 to 2003.
This large decrease was thought to be due to the decline in
use of hormone therapy after menopause that occurred after the results of the Women's Health Initiative were published in 2002. This study linked the use of
hormone therapy to an increased risk of breast cancer and heart diseases.
Incidence rates have been stable since 2004.
Breast cancer is the second leading cause of
cancer death in women, exceeded only by lung cancer. The chance that breast cancer will be
responsible for a woman's death is about 1
in 36 (about 3%).
Death rates from breast cancer have been declining since
about 1990, with larger decreases in women younger than 50. These decreases are believed to be the
result of earlier detection through screening and increased awareness, as well
as improved treatment.
At this time there are more
than 2.9
million breast cancer survivors in the United States. (This includes women still being treated and
those who have completed treatment.)
If your a man in the life of a woman don't listen to excuses. There are free mammograms being offered by hospitals, County Government, Health Care Providers and Corporate entities. Get the woman or the women in your life checked any way you can.
If you are a woman, don't make excuses and don't make things any harder on the men in your life than things already are. (I won't get into it)

Just get yourself checked. Fear doesn't make bad things go
away or stay away...fear is an invitation for bad things to happen.
Be aware and know! Breast Cancer Awareness is not just for a month out of the year, but for a life...yours (Man or Woman).
Have no fear!
Get Checked.
