“Where were we, Oh Yes, the special part of this retreat, follow me RJ.”“Look Alvida, maybe I should be going, since Michal is showing up and all, I’m sure you two have much business to look after, especially if the lady we drove up here didn’t wanna come” (I was scared I was an accomplice to kidnapping). “We do have business tonight RJ, that business is you!”
Alvida said, “Come on, you need to see this RJ, you want to make sure that Katie is safe don’t you?” Now I was really scared and in hellacious pain but put on my cop façade to hide my apprehension. “Sure, why not Alvida.” Alvida looked on me pitifully and had one of the suntan babe’s in her work clothes (tan t-shirt and bikini bottom) run up to me with a cane. Alvida said, “use this, we have walking to do.”
We went back through the courtyard, into another room which was locked behind us and had a combination keypad next to the door. We went down another flight of stairs into a dimly lit hallway. At the end of the hallway was a steel door with a keypad next to it. By the time we got to the end of the hallway we waited for the two big Amazon type women, one black, one white, who were now walking down the hallway to Alvida and I.
They were not fat but buffed out like body builders, they had on gray sweat pants and construction boots with black wife beater t-shirts that stuck to their skin. As the two tall powerful women got t
o us Alvida said, RJ, face the wall. I said, “what!” After which the black amazon pushed my face into the wall as Alvida entered the code key and opened the door. The Amazons then shoved me through the open portal into a place I didn’t want to be. “I have a bad enough time walking without you shoving me broadzilla.” Alvida snapped “be careful with him.”
It was a huge facility with several areas separated by partitions, in some areas were white padded walls and a black thick padded floor (you could drop an egg on it and it wouldn’t break). One area had hospital beds and another area had several large red recliners with straps on the head, arm and foot rests. The recliner area also had several racks, poles, shelves, therapy equipment, electronic stimulation machines, inversion tables and inhalation devices with masks.
In one of the partitioned areas with a hospital bed and a gray recliner, in there was a woman, half nude sprawled out on the recliner, staring at the ceiling. Alvida said “RJ, lets go talk to Katie. Let Katie tell you what happened today.” We walked over to Katie who was awake and coherent. Alvida took Katies hand, “Katie, how you doing sweetheart?”
“Katie looked at Alvida and smiled and said, “fine now, I think I need to talk to the shrink tomorrow.” “Katie, tell RJ what happened today, everything” asked Alvida. The amazon sisters, Ludmilla and Rudy, disappeared inside this huge facility as Katie sat up.
Katie was wearing only shorts, she was in her early 30’s and totally gorgeous and I fought thinking about anything except her safety. Katie knew I was a man but was totally uninhibited about being nude. The room was a comfortable 75 to 80 degrees. Katie had dark brown hair, brown eyes and a wonderful smile. Katie looked at me and said, “I found out from a friend who came to take me ho
me from the club that my boyfriend was in an accident and in the hospital, Kaiser on Sunset.
My friend Becky told me that he was in CCU and only immediate family could see him. I called his Mom to get permission to see him. His Mom told me he was brain dead and she was pulling the plug on him, and I was the reason he got into the accident in the first place. Eddie’s Mom said I was nothing more than a street slut and her son is dead because of me. Becky said he had candy and flowers in the car… he was going to propose to me.” Tears streamed down Katie’s face.
Katie went on, “I was finishing up at the Club and told Mort what happened, I broke down, went into the kitchen behind the bar, I locked the door, turned on the gas and tried to join my Eddie in heaven. Next thing I remember is Alvida and Mort carrying me and then I passed out again.”
Katie blew her nose and dried her tears. “You guys brought me back here, me and Alvida went through treatment together, we sand whores look after each other…and we do.”
Alvida said, “thanks Katie, we are going to let you rest, the Psychologist is going to see you in a while and probably get you on some meds. See you in the morning sweetie.” “Alvida, will I still have a job?” Alvida said “When your well enough to work you will have your work waiting for you. Rest baby.”
“Can I ask Katie a question Alvida?” “Anything RJ!” quipped Alvida. I sat slowly cringing in pain and asked “What keeps you from running away? Did you want to come here?” Katie laughed, saying “why would I do that? Where else would I go…the cops left me in the streets after I had been kicked out of a shelter, this is my family.”
Katie looked at me and said “beside all who go through here are loved in every way, would you ever betray your own family?” Alvida said “rest sweetheart.” Katie motioned Alvida over to her and whispered something in her ear.
Alvida giggled and said looking at me “he will be, you can bet he will be.” Katie waved at me, closed her eyes and curled up in a fetal position. Katie was gorgeous. Now I was worried for my safety as Alvida approached me. “Alvida what did you mean by ‘he will be’.” “Treated!” Alvida snapped.
Alvida grabbed my hand and said “Walk with me down the corridor RJ.” The Amazon sisters, Ludmilla and Rudy materialized behind me and looked at me like a piece of meat. “What kind of treatment am I getting? Are you people planning to harm me?”
“For one thing RJ, this facility is quite legal and what we do here is not criminal. You need to also know that we here are quite close, personally and professionally.” Alvida’s eyes got hard as she stared me down. I took out my cell to call Kirk but it didn’t work. Rudy (Amazon sister #1) took my phone from me.
Meanwhile on Interstate 10 leaving Fontana City Limits, Michal hit the accelerator on her 10 cylinder Jaguar and set the cruise control at 80 MPH. The tone on her blue tooth earpiece went off and she answered the call. “Michal here,…Yes Levon, your brother is investigating you?..How do you know…your Uncle Zed said what to Jeezus?”
Looking down the highway Michal continued on the call. “Your brother is trying to find out all about the Retreat, I know our friend RJ is working for your brother Ara…. don’t worry he will never testify in court…Levon, I already spoke to Alvida, Katie is not an issue…I will be there soon, Levon…don’t worry about RJ…he will be irreparably compromised…leave that to me.” Michal speed dialed Alvida, she was 25 minutes away.
Meanwhile back at the ‘Retreat’ I was interviewed for treatment by Medical Doctors away from Alvida and the Amazon Sisters. I said, “I don’t want to be here if I’m going to be hurt.” “We are Medical Doctors, with sheepskin hanging on the walls and name tags, if you want to leave, then go.
But it is my opinion the multiple spasms your having will keep you from driving, any drugs you take for pain will definitely keep you from driving. We are here to help you RJ” said the mature female Doctor.
Alvida was walked into the cubicle and said “Sign this form RJ, its for your medical marijuana card.” I didn’t read the form, the Doctors walked away after I signed it. I sat in the large dark red recliner as Ludmilla finished binding my left arm to the arm of the recliner while Rudy opened my shirt and stripped me, leaving me naked from the waste down.
Alvida turned cold and said, “You ask a lot of questions for someone who is just looking to heal the hurts. What I’m going to do is find out from you what those real motives are? And I know when I do you will get what you have come for and we will get another ‘convert’.”
Alvida made a gesture with her eyes and Rudy said, “It would be good for your health to do what we tell you”. Rudy guided me toward a wide hospital bed with all kinds of things hooked up to it in the back .
Ludmilla picked me up and laid me on the bed. I held the pen wondering what I signed. Ludmilla opened a black doctors bag and pulled out a syringe.
I was frightened and it showed. Alvida kissed my forehead and said “I promise you it will be all good.” “What did I really sign Alvida?” Alvida then read the medical marijuana document along with the treatment notice. I thought I understood it but said, “what?” because I didn’t quite believe all I heard. Alvida read it to me again.
Ludmilla strapped my right arm to the arm rest and brought the oxygen mask to the recliner and attached it to a device generating smoke through a series of clear tubes. I heard Alvida say, “Michal should be here any minute”.
